Mullan Village features on RTÉ Prime Time

Mullan Village recently featured on RTÉ ONE's flagship current affairs programme Prime Time. Journalist Conor McMorrow talks about the demise of Mullan Village, partly due to the closure of the border roads in the 1970's, and the campaign by local groups - known as "Border Busters" - to remove the blockades on Ballagh bridge near Mullan. The programme includes rare video footage of the "Border Busters" in action. It goes on to describe how the village became revitalised after the re-opening of the border roads, the renovation of the village houses and the establishment of Mullan Lighting inside the old mill building.

In this short snippet Séamus Mulligan - once Mullan's only inhabitant - talks about smuggling across the border near Mullan Village.

The full episode is available to watch on RTÉ Player [begins at 24:40] until October 24, 2019.
