If you're dreaming of a mountain escape, The Ladybird is your perfect haven. Nestled in the heart of Méribel, this chalet offers lush greenery and breathtaking views that make it a true alpine paradise. Designed by Michael Henry, manager of Atelier MMH, The Ladybird is a peaceful retreat for those who adore the French Alps.
A Blend of Rustic Charm and Modern Aesthetics
The Ladybird chalet seamlessly blends the rustic charm of traditional alpine architecture with modern aesthetics. The old-growth wood cladding on the exterior, combined with the authentic exposed beams inside, creates a rustic charm that harmoniously integrates the chalet with the surrounding landscape.
Step inside, and you're greeted by a warm and welcoming ambiance. A roaring fireplace and oak parquet flooring lend an authentic, homely feel to the space, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The modern, functional kitchen stands as the heart of the chalet, where family and friends can gather to share meals and create memories.
Vibrant Lighting and Contemporary Comfort
The vibrant and unique lighting fixtures throughout the chalet add a touch of modern flair to the traditional setting. The playful, colourful lights not only brighten the rooms but also enhance the overall aesthetic, making the space feel both contemporary and cosy.
The Ladybird comfortably accommodates guests with its four suites, one dormitory, and five bathrooms, ensuring ample privacy for everyone. Whether you're visiting with family or friends, the chalet is designed to cater to all your needs. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the dedicated ski room and sports hall, equipped to handle all your gear and workout requirements.
Outdoor Serenity and Relaxation
The chalet's beautiful wooden terrace overlooks a meticulously landscaped garden, offering a serene outdoor space to relax and enjoy the stunning views. Enhance your alpine experience with an outdoor Nordic bath and a Vision Tonneau Bulle en Bois sauna, perfect for soothing your muscles after a day of adventure.
Crafting the Perfect Ambiance: A Collaboration with Mullan Lighting
We asked Michael from Atelier MMH about his experience working with Mullan Lighting on this project:
"From our first intention to the creation of this little marvel, an association of ideas emerged after we began installing the first Mullan luminaires at the Ladybird chalet.
With the aim of harmonising colour and design, the presence of many colourful Mullan Lighting designs in the space encouraged us to continue working with them.
We materialised our project by selecting standard Mullan Lighting designs and exploring the possibilities of purchasing spare parts on their website. Originally, our intention was to design and manufacture it in our workshop by combining Mullan parts to bring our creative intent to life, so an initial sketch was produced.
We sent our sketch to Mullan Lighting and were delighted to discover that the company offers a made-to-measure service!
After several emails to discuss our project in more detail, we drew up some detailed plans to fit in perfectly with the curved shapes of the kitchen, enabling us to begin the manufacturing phase in their workshop.
The Mullan team supported us in our project by showcasing their expertise, which combined sophisticated aesthetics with a high level of technicality and adaptability, all of which contributed to the success of our project, right through to delivery.
Thanks to our team's meticulous attention to detail, the installation was successfully managed, finally bringing this fine project to life."
Experience the Magic of The Ladybird
From the moment you step into The Ladybird's living area, it's clear that this room is the heart of the chalet. The majestic touch of warm lighting and a pleasant feeling of comfort make it a truly remarkable space.
Whether you're cozying up by the fireplace, sharing a meal in the modern kitchen, or relaxing on the terrace with a view of the Alps, The Ladybird offers
The Bespoke Design Process
Michael approached our designers with his idea, and they promptly created an initial sketch for the light fixture. Upon reviewing the design, Michael noted that the colourful shades were too large for the space. Taking his feedback into account, the designers quickly resized the shades to better fit the chalet's aesthetic. The revised design was approved immediately, thanks to our streamlined design process and the dedication of our project managers, ensuring a perfect blend of form and function.
