We absolutely love how our Cairo wall lights have been used in this mid-century modern kitchen in an Edwardian home on the outskirts of London. Designed by Owl Design (and kitchen from deVOL Kitchens), the teal colour is bold and daring and - like our Cairo lights - closely associated with mid-century modern. Although not an obvious colour choice for a Shaker kitchen, teal pops against the bright white ceiling and heavy coving. Teal walls and cupboards brings richness into the room. A wall of fitted cupboards includes a double pantry, full height fridge and freezer and cupboard storage, hiding away all appliances. The room has a more furnished feel, less like a kitchen and more a living space. Nothing complements teal better than tones of brass and gold. We can see this in the kitchen's brass knobs, fixtures, shelf rail and French Lancanche range cooker (an obvious influence by the property's French owners). Our brass and black Cairo wall lights suit both the style and colour scheme of this Shaker kitchen perfectly. The beautifully weathered dining table and wooden floor both give the kitchen an authentic feel. The bold tiles make it more playful. Below are some more inspirational images of the London kitchen.
