St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan
St. Mary’s Church is located in the townland of Onomy in the Parish of Muckno, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan.
The church is built on a historic, Catholic place of worship that was first erected between 1805-1807. The current church was built on the same site during the mid to late 1850’s. With strong religious standings, the site is said to have been visited by St. Patrick himself, Ireland’s patron saint.

The original church was first developed by Armagh architect James Hughes and followed the traditional pointed-gothic architecture often seen in Roman Catholic churches. It is beautifully complemented with stained-glass windows.
The church was extended in 1955 to adapt to the needs of the expanding community.
In 2010, the church underwent further upgrades and faced a lengthy interior and exterior remodel, adapting the church to the 21st century.

In more recent years, we manufactured three magnificent Flemish chandeliers for this beautifully renovated church.
The chandeliers are suspended above the centre isle of the church, drawing the viewer towards the alter and impressive stained-glass window. The stained-glass window was integral in the renovation as it held a strong connection to the original roots of the church.
